About Mag, LLC

MAG, LLC is a member’s only advisory service founded to help consumers navigate the vast maze of insurance policies and to protect them from the insurance industry's latest brainchild, supplemental medical insurance which has been handled by peripheral parties around the insurance companies and ignored by the state insurance commissions. We say peripheral because in most cases it is not the underwriting insurance companies themselves that harm policyholders but the packagers, associations, resellers, and 3rd party administrators that have gotten involved.

I would like to say that the members that put MAG together are supplemental insurance experts but in truth there are no
supplemental insurance experts. The insurance companies that sell you worthless pieces of paper are not supplemental insurance experts and in many instances are just plain crooked. This essential problem spreads across many industries. There are millions of dollars to be made on the fears and suffering of everyday people. This is why MAG was founded – to protect consumers and provide them with invaluable, insider information into the insurance industry.

WHAT WE DO
At MAG we buy insurance products, test them, examine them to see if they work according company hype. We do not take any discounts or payments, advertising money, or kickbacks from any of the products we test. If we recommend a company we will never make money for that recommendation. Every recommendation we make, either good or bad is strictly based upon the opinions and experiences of us and our members and should be taken as such in your decision making process.

THE PROBLEM FOR CONSUMERS

From the documents we add to our free section you will notice that the same names come up time and time again as repeat offenders in many different states. There is a simple reason for this- there is no downside for the same rip-off artists forming a legal company in one state, taking your money until the state’s insurance commission closes them down, and then moving on. Before the cease & desist order is even issued they form another company and start all over again. Sometimes these disreputable entities don't even bother to change their address and phone number. As you can see they package products to sell to associations that do not really exist supposedly underwritten by insurance companies to whom they have never talked. A relevant case study is the latest problem with CEO clubs.  CEO clubs claim that they were misled by 2 parties that they refuse to name, to believe that they were offering their members a plan underwritten by an insurance company that does not write medical insurance at all. They claim they were duped and it is likely they were. CEO clubs refused my requests to produce a copy of the order from the Texas insurance department with whom they said they were cooperating. A request was filed with Holly Christianson of the Texas state enforcement Division. Ms. Christianson is an investigator whose first priority is consumer protection. She sent a copy of the order the same day (it will be posted on the free section of our site). The report indicated that CEO clubs were a "considered party" just like the companies and individuals they claim ripped them off. The report also shows a veritable “Who's Who” of names appearing repeatedly from state to state, involved in numerous fraudulent companies. It would not have taken very much effort for the people in charge of protecting their members at the CEO club to get the same information.

THE SOLUTION FOR CONSUMERS

Honestly, there is no easy solution. The reason these criminal entities can go from association to association and name after name is that the consequences pale in comparison to their profits. Eventually they will be stopped, but it may be after several years. They will be fined and slapped on the wrist. This does not help consumers at all. The states, while being well meaning, are understaffed, under financed, and do not have the necessary laws in place to stop this obvious and frustrating abuse of the system. If the states cannot stop them why can't they be sued civilly? The fact is they can and here at MAG we advise anyone to take advantage of this option when necessary. This route is not without its downfalls such as how long it takes defendants who make it as expensive and time consuming as possible, and figuring out just who to sue. For examples read any of the state orders posted herein. You will see name after name after name. Each party will say that the other is responsible and it goes back and forth indefinitely. Ironically, often times the same people are officers of the different companies involved. Since you are suing the company and not the individual this will make little difference. We will provide information, advice, and get you started on the track to gather information on the companies with whom you are considering doing business.
